21 April 2009. Another defeat for the vets, this time 9 - 1 at Castell Alun. Jack Evans 21 - 14 the only winner

18 April 2009. Start of the Ponderosa Saturday League, with both A and B Teams starting the season against Gresford Colliery. The club would like to extend a warm welcome to three new players this season, Ian & Nigel Jones and Rod March, and welcome back to John O Leary. The A Team at home The B Team Away. The A Team Losing the match 8 - 6 on the aggregate. A good win for captain 21 - 2 There were also wins for Terry Mathias, Donna Craven, Malcolm Hughes, Kevin Rogers and a club debut win for Ian Jones

The B Team also lost 9 - 5. Tom Shaw 21 - 16 the pick of the B Team Bowlers, wins for Bev Edwards, Edna Hughes, Mo Morris and Jack Evans all to 18. Ron Davies unlucky,losing to 20. Also a worthy mention To Rod March losing to 11 on his debut. A big Thanks to Hughie Davies and Dennis Davies who are always on hand to help in the usual last minute scrabble for players Making the captains job easier
